The Clock Tower<\/h2><\/div>

The Clock Tower of Brisighella stands today on one of the three hills that dominate Brisighella, as do the Rocca and the Church of Montincino.<\/p>\n

Maghinardo Pagani from Susinana<\/strong>, one of the most famous leaders of Romagna, had a fortress built in 1290, using squared plaster boulders. The function of this fortification, which later became the Clock Tower of Brisighella, was to have a broad view of the territory and to control the movements of the besieged in the nearby castle of Baccagnano. The Tower, together with the Fortress, constituted the defensive system of the town center until 1500.<\/p>\n

Damaged and rebuilt several times, the tower was completely rebuilt in 1850<\/strong> and the clock was also placed there in the same year.<\/p>\n

The dial of the clock is at six hours, according to the Italian time system of those times. The top of this hill is a panoramic point to admire the town, the chalks and the gullies that surround the medieval village of Brisighella.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
